Rusty Posted July 15, 2006 Posted July 15, 2006 Went for a drive today. Stopped at the park on the east side of the river. Noticed 100's of carp tailing in the riffles in the river. What would be the chance of catching these on the fly? Big boys they were. Easy wading, it looked like to me.
kelly Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 I have caught lots of carp on a fly rod in the Neosho. I assume that is what you meant by "on the fly". I've used corn and a wheaties/strawberry soda dough ball with corn being the best. There are some big Wipers right below the dam. A fly rod and a white jig would be a blast. I got my line broken twice Saturday. Seven pounder was the fish of the day. Kelly
