Guess nobody went!!

tough fishing, water up and murky. very few fish and what was caught was in the 8"-10" range....hard to figure when we went to the 4 limit and the trout just keep getting smaller. I guess budget cuts everywhere!

Plenty of fish in the water (though decidedly smaller), they just had their noses to the stream bed... Once you bounce a jig or run a swimmer past their noses they'd give chase and take a swat at it... If it looked enticing...

I ended up with over 20 yesterday... 10 above (or on) the dam on a grey/denim 1/16th oz maribou, the rest while I was hog hunting "Pete's Blue Pipe Hole" in zone two...

I fell in, too... (Doh!!)

I think I'm going to give it a try tomorrow afternoon if the rain isn't too bad. Thought I would try the traditional white 1/32 or 1/16 jig in zone 1., gotta go deep and heavy I guess?

Cricket,

By The looks of your picture, it appears the Rapala tore a real nice hole in your net. So did you catch the fish in the back or what. Ugly Stik... that's not the rod I was training you on the other year.

Nah, the treble hooks always come out of the cheap net.. But I do need a nice one... lol

And it's a bit difficult to pitch the x-raps and such with a fly rod... ;)

Did make it down to Zone 1 from about 2:p.m - 4:30 p.m. and man it was slow. Caught two winter leftovers that were small and skinny, kept them anyway and had one get off. A few other hits and that was it. Beautiful day, wouldn't have missed it for the world but hit some nice storms on the way back up to the St. Louis area.
