Members jnorman Posted March 8, 2011 Members Posted March 8, 2011 Well if the forecast stays the same, I am coming down Friday for the first time this year. It's been pretty quiet the last week on the forum so that must either mean the fishing is terrible and nobody wants to talk about it or the fishing is so good nobody is wasting time getting on their computer. Just wondering which way it is? Anybody pulling out fish? The best time to fish is when it's raining . . . and when it's not!
Members EBake Posted March 8, 2011 Members Posted March 8, 2011 Wow, that's amazing. I just put in for PTO Friday to give it a try my self. Guess one of us will be following the other . What are you going to try for and from the bank or boat?
Members jnorman Posted March 8, 2011 Author Members Posted March 8, 2011 Good luck EBake. I'll be happy catching about anything but I'm really hoping to catch some walleye and maybe some hybrids. I'm going to be bank fishing right below the dam. The best time to fish is when it's raining . . . and when it's not!

Members jnorman Posted March 8, 2011 Author Members Posted March 8, 2011 Sounds like a pretty good trip Josh. If you go down Thursday that would be great if you have a report. What part do you usually fish? The best time to fish is when it's raining . . . and when it's not!
Members raildog Posted March 9, 2011 Members Posted March 9, 2011 Josh, I was down there monday and it was dead. I fished the south side and the only fish I saw landed was the one I foul hooked. I did see some guys jigging in the old river channel. I don't know if they did any good or not.
Members joshgray Posted March 10, 2011 Members Posted March 10, 2011 i got to go down there today i was rained out of work it was really slow today caught 4 hybrids but no size it is funny how they can shut off like that i fish mostly in the old channel they were running alot of water but it weired the water was swurling alot but i think after this cold front gets past us in a couple of days it will pick up dont think i will be able to get back down for a week or two so good luck to you all
Members jnorman Posted March 10, 2011 Author Members Posted March 10, 2011 Looks like I'm not going to get down until next week sometime. That might not be a bad thing though. Sounds like it is still pretty hit or miss. The longranger has it being sunny and in the 60s most of next week so maybe that will pick things up. The best time to fish is when it's raining . . . and when it's not!
Members raildog Posted March 11, 2011 Members Posted March 11, 2011 we fished the old river channel hard today, foul hooked a 25 or so pound spoonbill and a 15 or so pound gar. I saw 2 crappie caught.....pretty dead. Where is a good place to get shad, I think I'm gonna take up catfishing.
