shockley32 Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 Made it out to Pomme late last week, sorry for the delay in the report. The fishing wasn't as fast and furious and I expected, however did do pretty good. Put in at Hermitage State Park and stayed within a mile or two. Unfortunately lost my bearings in the boat trailer just about the time I got to the lake but hey I was already at the lake might as well fish a couple of hours!!!! The lake was 4-5' high, even higher now! The water was pretty clear you could see bottom in 6-7 feet. Water temp was 39 degrees. Had 10 crappie in the livewell in two hours, should have had a limit but didn't get them in the boat. It can be real aggrivating when you get the fish to the top of the water and then loose them, still a great day to be out. It had been a while since I had been out so I missed a ton of bites. Had about half dozen bass, a couple nice keepers. Fished brush in 20-25 feet of water and all fish were down in the brush. All fish were caught on Shimmer Stix's, this is a new bait a friend of mine is making and it is AWESOME!!!! He's getting ready to market them soon. I fished the 2.5" version, however he will have a great 6" version for bass sometime this spring. As we were testing the 6" version three weeks ago a friend caught a 8.25 pound largemouth!!! It was a pig. When he gets them ready to market I'll let you know. Have a great one! Brad Have your visited Limitville lately?
DChance Posted March 8, 2011 Posted March 8, 2011 Thanks for the report.......there are definitely 2 different lakes there right now, the lake near the dam.....and the lake up the arms...
Trav Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 Thanks for the report! Sounds like the water is still pretty cold. "May success follow your every cast." - Trav P. Johnson
DChance Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 I was able to find 49-50 degrees on Sunday last week
