Looks like the river levels have started the spring roller coaster. Looks like it has risen this past week with some needed rainfall. Me and the Trout Whisperer are headed down Friday night. Hope the water is good, though I expect it to be a little off colored. Report will be added on our safe return.

The river was about normal level and slightly stained, and a great sunshine day. A friend and I fished Saturday from Turner to Whitten. We caught enough fish to maintain our interest. Mostly 12'14" range with a couple very small trout that had to be reproduced in the river. Good day of fishing and floating. Several eagles were spotted throughout the day.

Sunday we floated the Greer to Turner section. It was overcast and hi in the low 50's. I never caught a trout but had a few bites. Only thing I caught was a goggle eye.My friend didn't fair much better as he landed 1 14" trout and a smallmouth. The scenery on the Blue Ribbon Section is spectacular and again saw lots of eagles. We attributed our lack of success to the cool front moving through and, for myself, a lack of experience with artificial lures. I had a good time though, but afraid I will remain a bait chucker as first method of choice.

The shoals at Stinking Pond are loaded with baby trout right now. Was that where you caught them between Turner and Whitten? Always love to hear where the successful spawns happened. There are lots of first year trout in the blue ribbon area and I even caught a few near Riverton a couple of weeks ago.

I agree with you Brian....over the winter, I caught some at stinking pond and whites creek. Neat that they spawned up and down the river.
