Cabelas sells their Three Forks 3wt and Its a fine casting rod. I have one and use it on small streams. Its a 71/2 foot medium action rod. Runs around 50 bucks. Very nice for the price. You might find a used TFO pro in that weight

for under a C note.

What are you currently using? I second the TFO Pro. Great all purpose action and a good company to support.

I am using a cheapy White River fly shop Dogwood Canyon combo

I have the TFO 7'6" 3 wt and it is a very nice rod. Action is not real fast but very smooth. I use for trout but primarily for panfish in the backyard pond. I good gill

gives a nice fight for sure.

If you let go for $50 more you could go with a new TFO Pro Series and if you tripped and broke it you would get it repaired/replaced for $25... I love my 4 wt and so will Flounder Pounder after someone talked him into one just like mine.

Also, the Cabelas CGR (Custom Glass Rod) has gotten good reviews at $99.99

I have spent most of my money on fly fishing and beer. The rest I just wasted.

Forget the $100 limit...$150-175 better options.

TFO -- good choice I have a 3wt like it

Echo Carbon -- NICE rod --I have a 2wt love it.

Redington CR another good choice

I am on the TFO bandwagon. I have a 7'6" TFO Finesse series, it is a slower action rod, but I like it a lot.
