Hotdawg Guide Service Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 I was able to guide several days this week on the lower end of the lake and the bite is still hit or miss. One day it seems like every fish is feeding and the next you can't find them at all. I had a great day on Tuesday with 15 fish caught that were keepers Largemouth, White Bass, Kentuckies and one Yellow Perch 13 inches long. Wendsday it was slower with 9 same species. Thursday I braved the wind and found White bass hitting on stickbaits. Temps range from 46 degrees to up to 53 late Thursday. The best baits were Lucky Crafts in American Shad color. Rattlin Rogues in puple back and black and silver. And 5 inch Hula grubs in green pumpkin black flake 1/4 ounce jighead. I also caught a few fish on spoons.I was using 8 pound flourocarbon line. GOD Bless good luck Hotdawg!! Hot Dawg Guide Service
BrianS Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 Yesterday we weighed in 5 that weighed 16.84 lbs. Took 20 lbs to win and a 7 lb bass got big bass in the Joe Bass tournament out of Theodosia HOOK 'EM HORNS
Bill Jr. Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 I went down this past weekend and really had a tough time. Outboard was out of commission so had to rely on just a trolling motor. I never want to do that again! 45min. to get to the back of the creek to try for some whites to find out they are not going to cooperate. Then an hour back into the wind is not fun. would have been better if we were catching but it was few and far between. We then started for the green fish and I love the jig but they just didn't want it. Caught a few on jerkbaits but only managed 2 keeps on Sat. with 18" being tops. Oh well, there is always next month.
