MOBass Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 You may want to try a Senko texas rigged with no weight for the bass. Cast the bait to the back of the dock and let it sink. If it reaches the bottom with out getting a bite reel it back slowly. Most of the bites will come as the bait is sinking. For browns you can try minnows, night crawlers, spoons, and small rapalas. Fish above Fall Creek and I would say your odds will go up on catching a brown. Keep watching the reports before you trip so you can stay up to date on what is happening. Good luck!
Members Cory Lomon Posted July 19, 2006 Author Members Posted July 19, 2006 ty for the tip any certan color for the lures and if any 1 else has any tips plz share them for taneycomo and i have also heard of crappie fishing in taneycomo!what do u use to get the little boogers? thanks cory
MOBass Posted July 19, 2006 Posted July 19, 2006 Senkos - Watermelon, Watermelon Red, Watermelon Candy, Smoke Red. Crappie - I haven't fished for crappie in Taney but I would say the standards would work. Crappie jigs, road runners, minnows fished around brush piles and boat docks would be a good place to start.
Members TexomaOkie Posted July 19, 2006 Members Posted July 19, 2006 We were successful on Taney a few weeks ago with 5" Senkos in the Smoke w/ Purple and Black flake color pattern. The clearer the water the more I like something with purple flake. You can go to "yamamoto.baits.com" to see a chart of all the colors they make.
Hunter91 Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 We have done well at times bass fishing on Taneycomo. Mostly using topwaters(poprs or buzzbaits) early in the morning or late evening or spinnerbaits when its cloudy or the water gets murky. Good luck.
Kayser Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 Not sure about Taney specifically, but big browns want big meals. Try a shad-rap or a husky jerk (in the second smallest size), using a reel-and-pause retrieve. Twitch-reel-pause retrieve with the husky jerk. Rob WARNING!! Comments to be interpreted at own risk. Time spent fishing is never wasted.
Members Cory Lomon Posted July 24, 2006 Author Members Posted July 24, 2006 for the senkos will this work i got 1 kit http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...N%3AIT&rd=1
Members moonshiner1980 Posted July 24, 2006 Members Posted July 24, 2006 In this case any advice on flys and leeder leangths? Fight the good fight.
riverrat Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 Cory, the Senkos I use are "fatter" than the ones you have shown. Chompers make a Salty Sinker which works better for me than the Senko.
