Members FullTiltAngler Posted March 31, 2011 Members Posted March 31, 2011 Very curious about this lake also.I used to fish here quite regularly and have gotten into some good largemouth on many occasions.I was just wondering if anyone has been out that way here recently?
Members AmericanAngler Posted April 2, 2011 Members Posted April 2, 2011 What baits worked for you while fishing the bucketmouth at Mcdaniel? I usually fished for Cats there at night and early morning. I make my own swimbaits for a living and was wondering how plastics work there for bass. I am moving back to Springfield in two weeks to re estblich my bsiness in the Midwest. Would love any info you can suggest for me to try. Jeff "Let me fish or else"
Members FullTiltAngler Posted April 4, 2011 Author Members Posted April 4, 2011 I mainly caught them on 1/4oz rattle traps in blk/slvr or blue/slvr.It was always south of the bridge and either early morning or late evening when they were most active.Have not however fished out there in some time.I was wanting to go out and try for some crappie off the bridge but I thought I had heard the bridge was closed for repairs. If anyone can verify this it would be nice to know for sure.
Members AmericanAngler Posted April 8, 2011 Members Posted April 8, 2011 Mcdaniel Lake Bridge Closed There is an article I found about it online. Hope it helps a little bit. I will be moving back there to Springfield soon. Hopefully all is good and I can toss my own products at the bass there. "Let me fish or else"
fishbait3 Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 bridge is closed to driving traffic but not to walking/fishing traffic
Members FullTiltAngler Posted April 13, 2011 Author Members Posted April 13, 2011 Is there any crappie action off the bridge.Seems to always be people there fishing for them.
Members AmericanAngler Posted April 15, 2011 Members Posted April 15, 2011 My friend said there has been fair action using minnows and jigs. Its always been a good place to go. They fish afternoons and nights mostly. I can't wait to get in on some fishing there myself moving back next Monday. I want to see how my lures will fair with the fish of the Ozarks. Members FullTiltAngler Posted April 15, 2011 Author Members Posted April 15, 2011 What kind of lures are you in the business of making and how would one come across some samples of these to try and maybe give a full report on as well as possibly spread the word about to fellow fisherman around this area.
Members AmericanAngler Posted April 15, 2011 Members Posted April 15, 2011 I make soft plastic swimbaits worms and more. email me and I will give you more info how far from Springfield are you? "Let me fish or else"
