Members flyfisherman Posted April 8, 2011 Members Posted April 8, 2011 Last week my daughter was on spring break from Stephens College and she wanted to go fly fishing. She had never touch a fly rod so I hired brian to guide us and help her as I have no patience when it comes to my daughter the drama queen which is what she is studying to be an actress. We were lucky on the weather and the stream was in awsome shape, looks like a good year on the point. The fishing was steady not spectacular but Brian did help my daugther get at least 4 hook ups and three to hand, not bad for a first timer. Unfortunately the first hook up was the biggest and she lost it not knowing how to properly fight it. By the end of the day Brian felt comfortable having her toss a 2 fly rig. For those who haven't used Brian, he is very helpful and skilled teacher, I am an avid fly fisherman and I know I could not have taught my dauhter any better. The best thing is that now my daughter wants to do this at least once a year which is something we can share in the future. I will post pictures when I get the camera back from my daughter

Always good to read reports of getting family involved. I look forward to the pics but good luck getting the camera back. I have spent most of my money on fly fishing and beer. The rest I just wasted. The latest Trout Commander blog post: Niangua River Six Pack
