Hotdawg Guide Service Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 Ed Goodman and I caught this 44 pound stringer today in 1-5 feet of water and almost all were caught on Chartruese Shad Lucky crafts. We caught at least 20 short Largemouths and kentuckies using Hula Grubs and Critter craws in 1-10 feet of water on 1/4 ounce jigheads and 8 pound line. We also saw this Golden Eagle catch and eat a fish not 50 feet from us.Water temps climbed by the end of the day to 61.8 degrees. Action was better with clouds. God Bless Hotdawg!! Donna G Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Wow! Sounds like a fun day all around. Not sure which Lucky Craft you were using, but I really like the Lucky Craft RC 2.5 in the chartreuse perch color in the right conditions. Caught my biggest LM to date on it. I've caught some nice ones on the white shad, as well. We'll be at Bull in two weeks and again the following week. Looking forward to some time on the water there. Bull is one of my favorite lakes. Thanks for sharing. Donna Gilzow Bella Vista, Arkansas The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope. --John Buchan, 1915
