Guest Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 I went to church on sunday morning and got to Beaver around 2pm. By 6pm, I had one crappie. From 6:30 to 8pm we caught 40 crappie, there were some shorts but mostly slabs. 1/16oz weedless jighead on a bobby garland shad body (blue/white) I was chunking it around the dock cables and walkways. Swimming it along and occasionally let it fall to the bottom in 2-5ft. There was a period of time (just before total dark) when I caught 10 crappie on consecutive casts. 26 keeper crappie, 5 bass, 2 whites, and 5 bluegill. Great day of fishing I could see the lightning from the impending storm as we loaded the boat after dark.
Stump bumper Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 Good looking slabs, looks like fishing is picking up. Have to get the boat up!!!
J-Doc Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 Nice report! I'm not a crappie guy but always want to get into it one day. I wouldn't have thought about the presentation you did near the dock cables. Nice job fishing the conditions! Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!
