Members 3inonegod Posted April 20, 2011 Members Posted April 20, 2011 I will be heading down to LOZ 4/28-4/30. I have never fished LOZ prior to this trip. Please help, I will be staying at mile marker 40 or so. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,
aftersh0ck Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 fish the docks and first and secondary points, pea gravel banks
Members Fishin Fanatic Posted April 20, 2011 Members Posted April 20, 2011 Concentrate on the peagravel and also try chunk-rock/peagravel transitions, a good number of fish should be spawning by then...try using a 1/4-1/2oz jig in PB&J or Green Pumpkin for bass and pearl grubs for crappie. A shakey head rigged worm should also produce good numbers of bass.
Members FullTiltAngler Posted April 20, 2011 Members Posted April 20, 2011 When fishing last sunday were catching all crappie in 5-10fow.Definitely on peagravel/chunk rock banks and mainly under docks. Were using 1/32 chart tinsel jigs with either chart or hot pink crappie nibbles but also were getting them on minnows as well.Good luck.

Thanks, A Jig size depending on wind. atleast 3/8 oz and eakins jigs work really well in 3/8 oz missouri crawl color. wiggle worts have a wobble ozark bass cant refuse this time of year. Some shaky head worms green pumpkin slays em a popper early can really get some nice bites when these fish are on beds if fished slowly and a crawl bait texas rigged with a small quaeter ounze weight if there is no wind and maybe a little heavier if there is a little wind
Members Fishin Fanatic Posted April 25, 2011 Members Posted April 25, 2011 Those are all good choices, and very effective... the only other baits I'd suggest would be a spinnerbait or swimbait if there's some wind
