timsfly Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 I fished Fellows today, had a friend call and needed a second today to help balance out the boat Well I of course said yes, and we had a good time, a bit brisk early but the fishing was good, we boated a lot of bass, I caught several on a black/white clouser and several on a chartruse clouser, Todd was catching all his bass on a 3" bass assasain plastic bait in black/silver and in a chartruse color. I did try to catch some crappie and managed to catch a few, most were under 10" but several were decent, I had two Musky follow my bait again today, one was decent size, and one was about 36" long, I really wish one would hit someday, I would love to fight one on my fly rod, I think we landed about 50 bass Todd did much better than me on the plastic baits, but I threw the fly rod, and had a good time, caught a few bluegill and lots of small bass, I had 5 that were around 15" Todd had some nice bass that were bigger and of course we didn't have a camera, I had left phone and camera in the car. Water seemed to be in good shape we could see several feet deep. Tim Homesley 23387 st. hwy 112 Cassville, Mo 65625 Roaring River State park Tim's Fly Shop www.missouritrout.com/timsflyshop

Jack Jones Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 I chime in......with respect to using the fly rod there, were you using a sinking line, sinking tip, or sinking leader? It really sounds like fun to use a fly rod like that and I hope to do so this spring/summer. As stated above, any info is appreciated.
