Listening to the weather this morning and didn't sound to favorable over the next several days.I am very curious on what everyone's outlook is in regards to the crappie and bass bite when these heavy rains arrive.I am looking at going up on Saturday and would appreciate any insight or opinions on this subject. Will it still be good fishing in this type of weather or will it shut em down for awhile.Just curious. Thanks ahead of time for any input.Good fishing to all and be safe out there.

In my 25 years on the ozarks I have learned the crappie will still be positioned on the backside of docks during these fronts aand the fishing right now should be really good even through the weekend. The bass tend to move quite a bit and become a harder bite when the water muddies up even more. With that being said... This time of the year try transition spots early throwing a half ounce missouri craw jig. As it warms up go further back into pockets slow rolling wiggle worts or spinner baits. If that fails throw some creature baits tx rigged with a quarter ounce weight down the sides of docks. Don't forget about the backs of the docks when the water rises!!!

Thats probably the best info i have received on this lake since starting on this site.I was a little concerned what the rain might do if it does get heavy.I had heard today they got a bunch of rain either yesterday or this mornin.I do think I will come up Saturday and give it a go and see what happens. Will undoubtedly bring the rain suit just in case. Thanks again for the info.Good luck in your fishing ventures and be safe.

ive been fishing out of osage beach for the last 12 years or so and ive seen the bass bite drop right at the beginning of the front and then slowly coming back throughout the day. there i usually find them along the pea gravel beds. the crappie definantly move to the docks. it seems like every trip i take down there (late april-early may) i get rained on the entire time im there.
