My partner and I launched out of Yocum Creek and fished all around the area of Bee Creek and Bear Creek from about 6 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Sunday evening.

It's tough. Surface water temp is 86 degrees. We scoped what we thought were crappie suspended in 30 ft. water off flooded trees. Got a few light crappie bites on jigs, but couldn't hook any. We never saw any white bass working.

We switched over to bass fishing with Texas-rigged plastic worms, and caught 4 or 5 Kentuckies about 13" long. My partner had a 5 or 6 lb. Largemouth up to the boat before it got off.

That water sure is hot!
