Members Rolland Love Posted April 29, 2011 Members Posted April 29, 2011 I'm sharing this information as an inspiration to those who write stories and articles set in the Ozark Mountains. When I opened Google recently I discovered my Mark Twain Style Ozark Mountains Fishing Stories series had been adopted by Shimano and many of their fishing tackle dealers. How this came about i have no idea as i did not submit anything to the company. Here are a couple of listing on websites that are typical of many, i even discovered a dealer in the UK that will only sell my stories to British citizens, tax reasons i guess? http://www.fishingcatch.com/tag/series http://buyshimanosite.com/amazon____KindleStore|133141011.html Being a writer and a fisherman I was delighted with my discovery as Shimano is the world leader in high-precision fishing equipment and it was nice to get the exposure. http://www.shimanoreels.org/the-history-of-shimano-reels As i said, hopefully this might serve as an inspiration to writers of Ozark material that lurking over the next blue hazed ridge or at the bottom of a deep holler is a fishing, camping or outdoors company who wants to pick your stuff up and expose you to the world. Right now I am in the beginning stages of trying to start to become a published outdoor writer...But it's hard to find publications for what I do. The kind of writing I really enjoy is outdoor prose, more the philosophy of it than the how-to stuff, and in the grand scheme of things there isn't much market for that. But I will keep on trying, and in any case, I just enjoy writing for its own sake more than anything else (except fishing.) If I never make a penny on any of my writings it still won't be a waste.

Members Rolland Love Posted May 8, 2011 Author Members Posted May 8, 2011 Actually there is a market for outdoor prose and it's not crowded with good writers. Go too this website http://pred-ed.com/ There will be publishers for what you are writing, let me know if i can help. Rolland http://www.google.com/profiles/sunnybiscuitdog
