Fished the very end of Horseshoe Bend Saturday and ended up with 36 nice crappie all together(only kept the best 15 of course).Still seem to be hangin in approx 10fow about 6-8 feet deep.Used a 1/32 chart tinsel jig tipped with a nibble all day without ever changing jigs. They started feeding around 10:30 in the morning all the way to about 5 before they slowed down. All were averaging around 10-10.5 but did get a really nice 14.5 female at one point that was packed full of eggs so let her go.Many others also full of eggs as well.I would think maybe a week or two before they should be done with the spawn and back to deeper water(any opinions on this time frame would be intersting to read).Good luck to all and good fishing.

I cleaned 14 I caught Sunday and only one had eggs in it. Same size in the 10 inch range all of mine came from very shallow water and no milt present either. I would say it's getting close to done, weather we have today is slowing them down for sure. Will Probably have a report wednesday, I have time off and the weather looks good. River fishing is done around here for quite some time, but atleast we're not flooded to any great degree.

I too, would say that the crappie spawn is probably nearly over. Still catching quite a few off the bank, but it is getting harder, and the fish are getting smaller. I think that the females have released their eggs for the most part and are sitting deeper now.

Went down to LOZ this past weekend and absolutely slayed the crappie...We caught some suspended in 20 ft of water and others shallow. One of the best spots we found was in 3-6 ft of water. It seemed like about half of the fish we caught were still full of eggs, so the spawn's not over quite yet.
