RSBreth Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 I have yet to make the linden to ozark float. Looking to do that next thursday possibly. Any one know how the logs are after the flood? I know people said that there were a few places you had to drag around where trees were across the water. Was wondering if the flood took those out or not. I talked to a couple of folks who have floated from Linden down to the park who said there's one spot up by Linden that's jammed up - but otherwise good to go. I don't know - I've been way too busy to get up there - but that's what I heard.
OzarkFishman Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 Went to a couple different spots on the Finley today, trying to get my bearings back after the epic flood. I had a nice fish break me off (spinnerbait). Then I caught this decent girl on a chatterbait. They were chasing pretty good today. Get out there and fish, OzarkFishman
Members atron Posted May 18, 2011 Members Posted May 18, 2011 Had my first outing this year on the Finley sat and then again on sunday, caught several decent smallies and a few blue gills. Was really impressed with how clear the water was, seemed to be much clearer than last year? Put in at park and paddled up about 1/2 mile then back down, also tried below the dam on the east side concrete. Also got to test out my new emmrod kayak king, anybody else have one?
Jack Jones Posted May 18, 2011 Author Posted May 18, 2011 I looked up that kayak king. That's a funky looking tool. How did it do for you? How long is it overall? Also....for those fishing....are you anchoring and tossing mostly spinnerbaits? OzarkFisherman....how do you fish that Chatterbait? I've never used one. OzarkFishman Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 A chatterbait is just a bladed jig. Mostly I fish it like a spinnerbait. Just vary the retrieve until the fish tell you what kind of action they want. Just don't forget it is a jig, so you can pitch it to cover and then swim it back to you.
