Members DLM84 Posted May 7, 2011 Members Posted May 7, 2011 High guys, I have been up to schell osage reserve fishing but the crappie have not been biting. Some said it was best around sundown but shut off shortly after. Others said it had been to cold, "wait till it gets about 80 for a few days son then come out and see how it is" a Old timer said. What do you guys think? Do we need about 1 week of 80's to warm up the lakes or is the crappie just being picky?
shaker Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 Whats the water temperture? If its in the 70 degree range and warmer I would guess that the spawn is about over and the fish are moving off the banks, sometimes they are sort of hard to entice into biting at this time meaning they can be real "picky" about what they will eat and when. Just my 2 cents worth for what that is worth, not much these days. Good Luck
Members DLM84 Posted May 15, 2011 Author Members Posted May 15, 2011 Thanks, It feels ice cold out there even though we had some days in the 80's but now its almost completely in the 60's for the high.
Members walker04 Posted April 3, 2012 Members Posted April 3, 2012 Anyone do any fishing in this area recently? I hae a jon boat and wouldn't mind getting out on this lake since it is smaller and less trafficy. Not sure how the fishing is though and what would bite?
Evolution Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 Last time I was there (about two weeks ago) not much action but few people catching fishes but if you don't mind bass fishing, the ponds have some nice largemouth roaming around since everyone seems to be concentrating on the big lake.
Members walker04 Posted April 13, 2012 Members Posted April 13, 2012 cool, thanks! I may head up there in a couple weeks and check it out.
