Members FishDreamer Posted May 11, 2011 Members Posted May 11, 2011 The Carp Spawn is also on... It's terrible thousands of these guys roming the shallows and really dirtying up the water along with the rains expected this week i suspect by this weekend bass fishing could get terrible. Does anyone have experience with this? Good places to catch them? I love lots of places to catch post spawn bass like marinas and such, problem is not alot of bass are in post spawn right now and i would love to catch alot of spawning bass this weekend... Any advice would really help, Thanks
Kayser Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 I don't bass fish at LOTO much, but I would recommend getting a bow and fish arrow and have some fun. Especially if some of those fish are buffalo. Rob WARNING!! Comments to be interpreted at own risk. Time spent fishing is never wasted.

rps Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 I have caught many top water bass within sight of carp wallowing. I consider it a good sign.
Members FishinJack Posted May 13, 2011 Members Posted May 13, 2011 I'd relax. Every year they do this. In fact most years when the water is higher the carp are more abundant. Several species are spawning right now. Some crappie are still spawning, also bass (peaking), gar, some bluegill, and the shad spawn started a few days ago. These are all first hand accounts that I have seen. A lot of the time the carp will spawn in the muddy bottom spots compared to the bass spawning on the gravel or hard bottom areas. The big problem is carp eating eggs.
