johndarin Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 Today my dad and I went fishing up by the wire and saw and caught many, many fish. We were using white, white/chartreuse, olive, black/chartreuse 1/8th oz jigs fishing the banks. We caught rainbows, kentucky bass, and crappie!! It didn't matter what color of those menchened above we used. The crappie we caught and saw were all between 12" and 16". The kentuckys' were between 1lb and 2.5lbs. We caught the majority of the crappie on the south side of the lake and just below the island. I did also use a Rapala X-Rap in the slack water and that's where I caught most of the bass. We did see some whites but didn't catch any. If you're wanting to catch some different species on taney now is the time. If your wanting to catch them on the fly you will have to get it close to the bottom. Next time I go I'm gonna try some clousers, and other streamers on sink tip line to help it get down in the current.
