Members Shad Attack Posted May 21, 2011 Members Posted May 21, 2011 i went out to bolivar landing today and took my john boat out before the storm hit. ended up catching three good size bass on a zoom green pumpkin/chartreuse lizard. you had to throw a lot of them but when they hit 'em hard when you present it just right. all of the bass hit just before the storm started in earnest. none hit after it started. i'm planning on hitting the state park area near pittsburgh on tuesday. anyone got any hints? and is the water clearer up there or should i go closer to the dam area? We went down and fished Thursday. Had a pretty good day - caught 17 keepers, best 5 went about 15 pounds. Caught them in the bushes in the mid-sections of both the Pomme and Lindley arm. We started in the Lindley, moved back towards the dam where we found the water cleaner than we wanted, then finished in the mid Pomme. Caught most of our fish on texas rigs but caught a few on spinnerbaits and a jig. Water was in the mid 60's and had at least 4' of visibility at the dam. It's come up several feet in the past few days, don't know how much that will effect the water clarity.
