Members Beagle_nut Posted May 23, 2011 Members Posted May 23, 2011 Fished out of Rockaway Beach for an entire week, didn't travel more than a couple miles up and down the lake either direction all week. Trout fishing was slower than previous trips as far as numbers were concerned but average size was better, fish seemed pretty scattered. My wife boated our first-ever Taneycomo "lunker" a 21 inch Rainbow that weighed just under 5 pounds. Caught it just around the corner from the Cedar Point Resort sign on sunrise colored power bait. Most of our fish were on power bait in some combination of chartreuse / yellow and orange. Caught some fish on jigs, best color was ginger, and the jig bite seemed to be heating up by the time we left. Tried bass fishing in Bull Creek a couple times but I still haven't figured out the bass fishing on Taney, I'll keep trying. Going way back into the back of Bull Creek was pretty cool though, extremely clear water and saw lots of fish including what I think was the biggest carp I've ever laid eyes on.
