FlyFishinFool Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 I went fishing down at Bennett Spring last week, and I damaged a TFO Jim Teeny 5wt flyrod. So when I returned home on Friday, I packed it up, put a note inside to explain what happened (along with a $25 warrranty repair check) and then mailed it off via USPS the following day on Saturday morning. This morning I received a new replacement rod from TFO - Saturday (shipped standard parcel post) to Thursday morning (door-to-door)a total of 6 days including the weekend! Then, just to top it off, TFO also returned my $25 warranty check - I guess they decided the problem was due to a defect and not my fault. This is GREAT Customer Service. With excellent rods and customer service like this, I am MORE than happy to keep using TFO flyrods! * ´¯`•.¸¸.•´¯`•.¸ ><((((((º> `•.¸¸.•´¯`•.¸¸.•´¯`•.¸ ><((((º> .¸¸.•´¯`•.¸ ><((((((º> I look in my fly box and think about what should guide my choice of the best fly: the amount/angle of sun on the water, the water temp & clarity, what bugs are hatching, what the fish might be eating, and what worked last time. Then I remember what an old man told me... " Ninety percent of what a trout eats is brown, fuzzy, about 1/2 inch long and underwater."
OKFlyFisher44 Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 Their customer service is great. I own 3 TFOs and have nothing but good experiences with them. If I wasn't a die-hard Scott fan, I would own more TFO fly rods. Scott has great customer service as well on top of their awesome sticks. What's great about TFO is they are out of Texas so turn around time on warranty/repair situations is very fast for us since they are only 1-3 days away. I sent a rod to them on Monday and had it back on Wednesday. Cant beat it... Chance ...I'm haunted in my dreams of waters I have yet to fish and trout I have yet to catch... Chasing the Dream...

In their early days my brother had a warranty claim, they didn't have a form to fill out, so they said just stick the check in the box. He was finishing college and his address on the check was his college address - and they decided to go with that over the return mailing address. So somebody in an apartment in cape girardeau got a free TFO pro - and after having to wait for a supervisor to return, TFO no questions asked sent him out a brand new rod. At least they made it right, but at first the office lady wasn't going to accept any blame for the screw up. I'm sure they're better now - this was back when the web site was a one page deal, before they got the momentum they have now.
