Jdecoudres Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 Do any of you guys know if there is any good trout fishing in Oklahoma and any info please?
fly2fish Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 Beavers Bend State Park below Broken Bow Lake in southeastern corner of the state. Beavers Bend Flyshop has a message board similiar to this one. Lower Illinois river below Tenkiller dam. There is a thread for that on here. Both are year round fisheries and stocked on a regular basis. Right now the LIR may be blown out by round the clock generation but Beavers Bend has an area that is fishable above where the turbines dump that is unaffected called spillway and lost creek. F2F

JCWolfe Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 Good wade fishing at both places. LI River is blown out right now. LMF is farther away for me but I go every now and then. Had a good day back in early May. Okiemountaineer

You can check the Three Rivers Fly Shop and the shop in Beavers Bend State Park for information. Spillway Creek, Lost Creek and the Evening Hole are all pretty unique, when you compare them to a normal tail water configuration. They run about 100 SCFM (a minimum flow) through a channel that varies from maybe 40' to 60” or 70' across, with a steep gradient through Spillway Creek. I think the arrangement is somewhat like Dry Run Creek. It is worth a try if you have not been….Sunfish45
