Nortrad Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 They're on the Current. Loud, flying around, dead ones on the trails, falling into the water. Any activity down on the North Fork?
Aaron J Scott Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 We fished at Blair and Kelly on Sunday and didn't hear much in the way of cicadas down on the river. I had hoped they'd be out and had come prepared with a simple foam-beetle-style pattern but never broke 'em out. Granted, we were only at two spots on the river, but from other reports I'd heard, it doesn't sound like they've gotten too thick right on the river. Save Scratch, Raise Cash. Fish Itch!
sean c Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 Nortrad I will be down this weekend I will keep an eye(and ear) out for them. I'm sure Justin has the skinny.
Brian Wise Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 They're on the Current. Loud, flying around, dead ones on the trails, falling into the water. Any activity down on the North Fork? None.... Most of the river valley is eerily quite, and I am yet to see one 'on' the water. My Youtube Channel
FishinCricket Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Indeed, I heard cicadas but saw none... Saw no risers, etc... cricket.c21.com
Nortrad Posted June 9, 2011 Author Posted June 9, 2011 Interesting, at least you heard some. It must be hit/miss for these critters. I'm wondering why no sign of them here in the Queen City, too much lawn care, insecticides? Trying to hit the Current at least one more time while they are out. Too bad the 11 Pt. is kinda high yet.
