Made the trip up yesterday to try to get into some more crappie. Fished the docks at the alhonna resort from around 8 in the morning til 3. Between two of us ended up bringing home 27 decent fish. All were between 10-12 inches with a couple 13 inchers as well. If included throw back fish probably caught over 50 all together. They seemed to be hovering between the 6-10 foot mark in about 25-30 fow. Caught all on the same 1/32 chart tinsel jigs with nibbles. We were fairly surprised with these results due to the time of year and with water temps as they are but definitely not complaining. Did have what seemed to be some light current running underneath the docks so that probably helped out some. With the numbers from this trip we estimated that since mid to end of march have probably caught well over 400 crappie all together out of this very same area this spring. I am curious if anyone might have any other good dock spots on the lake that have been very productive this season. Would appreciate any info on that and how everyone has faired this year fishing for our papermouth friends and if any ideas on how they will be the rest of the year. Good luck to all out there and be safe this summer.
