Here's a pattern for a WD-40. Just add a bead at the head of the fly.

There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.

Do you think that peacock herl could be substituted for the dubbing? And do you tie the mallard over the bead or behind it?

I have never tied one so I can't say about the peacock herl. I'd rather think that if you did use peacock, it would simply be a different pattern.

I never tie the wing case over the bead on my bead head nymphs, always behind.
