flytyer57 Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 I don't see why they wouldn't be legal. Haven't seen anywhere in the regs that say they wouldn't be. As to not seeing anyone use them, how many people do you see fishing Norfork, that are really fishing for walleye? How many people do you see fishing Norfork are actually trolling? I know I don't see that many. But then, I don't go out on the main lake where I would suppose the walleye would be this time of year. If you do see anybody trolling Norfork, they are most likely fishing for stipers. But then again, a planer board would work for that too unless you use a heavy umbrella rig. There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.

RSBreth Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 I've used them in Taney a few times and at Beaver. You're going to make them? I haven't used bigger models but I have had good luck with the smallest model from Church Tackle - the little TX-6- http://www.cabelas.com/planer-boards-church-tackle-tx-6-magnum-mini-planer-3.shtml Of course this is for smaller (Trout and White Bass) sized lures.
flytyer57 Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 And when ya gotta get 'em down deep, there's always the almighty Dipsy Diver. There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.
