Murdoc Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 I got away after work on Thursday evening. The river was a little low but not as bad as I've seen it. The fly area was full of fish and not too bad size wise. I fished with a green wooly and caught about 20+ in a couple hours. There looked to be a lot of dry action. Most good strikes came right after the flys hit the water. Just a reminder next weekend is take a kid fishing!! Get them out a start some memories. I will never forget my first year fishing down at Roaring River some forty years ago!! Smiles are free http://rdpflyrods.com/
Steve Smith Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 Bead head gingers did really well too this week. Strip it in and when you get one's attention, give the wolly a little shake. I tried some dry flys but they just weren't looking up at all. ___________________________ AKA Flysmith - Cassville MO
Wayne SW/MO Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 I will never forget my first year fishing down at Roaring River some forty years ago!! My very first Trout fishing trip took place there as well, during a Scout camping trip in 1953, 53 years ago! Its amazing what memories some areas can create. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
