Members Ofallon Dave Posted July 21, 2011 Members Posted July 21, 2011 Hello - New forum member here. I've been floating/fishing the Gasconade from roughly Hazelgreen to Rolla since I was a kid. We currently have a house near the Jerome Access. I've also spent some time kayaking the Little Piney from Newburg to Jerome and have had great luck there. I'm looking to expand my horizons some as it relates to baits and techniques. I grew up using strictly minnows and crawdads and continue to fish this way the majority of the time. Over the past year or so, I've begun using some artificial baits so that I don't have to rely so heavily on catching my bait. I've had some luck with rubber grubs, and flukes but want to speed up the learning curve and introduce other types of lures. Can anyone recommend a guide who operates in the area to take my buddy and I out? We're looking for a one-day learn-all-we-can-learn opportunity next week on Wednesday if possible. Thanks in advance for anything you guys can offer! Dave
FishinCricket Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 Tommy Bench is a local guide from Lebanon, he runs "Gasconade River Guide Service", his # is 417-718-7716... Can't say I've ever used him, but he's a heck of a fisherman and he spent enough on the fancy business card, I'd say he'll steer you right.. Dunno how far downstream he goes, though... Good luck.. cricket.c21.com
