I'd recommend the State Park. It's really convenient.

I'll second that motion. I used to stay at Table Rock State Park quite a bit when visiting from Dallas. It really is run well. The office staff is easy to work with. The facilities are superb. The ground is really rocky, though. If you're tent camping, I don't think aluminum tent stakes are the best of ideas.

BTW - you can reserve camping spots online through the state park system's website. I don't remember which were my favorite spots, but they have a map to help guide you through.

As for the rocks, well, welcome to Southwest Missouri.

What rocks? ;)

One way to "stake" here is to lay a stake, dowel, what ever between the tent and the pole and lay something heavy over it, like a rock if you can find one. :D

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
