Kevin, Hammertime. and other Bass Fishing Nuts,

Went to Stockton Saturday night about 11:00 P.M. Boat trouble again. I think that this trip to the mechanic will solve the problem. We have just about eliminated everything else. Fished around Hawkers Point. Tried B-5, some ledges, some brush, some gravel, some big rock. Fished from 5 feet to 35 feet. Used all size worms, Jigs, Poppers, and other plastics. We caught the same exact number at each location. ZERO!!!!!! Don't know if the lightning around us and ensuing storm was the culprit or that we just don't know what we are doing but we sure got skunked. Got off the water at 3:30 A. M. worn out and bewildered. Didn't even find many fish on the graph.

If anybody else went and caught some please write in......maybe I'll pick up some pointers on my fishing skills. Good Luck Guys.

Man, it sounds like you did all you could to catch 'em. I was curious if the fishing got better after that Saturday night that I went. I wasn't able to go last weekend, and possibly not this weekend, but maybe I am not missing anything!? Did you get any bites at all? This heat is really keeping them deep. If I get to go Saturday, I plan to fish from Cedar Ridge to the Dam, keeping as much to the deep water as possible. Maybe these fish are following bait schools around to feed more during the daytime?

Anybody catching any bass during the daytime?

Thanks again Walcrabass for posting. I am going back to the drawing board...

I haven't been in a couple weeks either. Too hot, and working too much. Looks like a slight break in the heat for the weekend but I'm stuck working a 70 hour week. No fishing for me. Glad to see that I'm not missing much, but I wish you guys were having better luck. Good luck with the boat Walcrabass. I look forward to seeing some good reports soon.

Me and my little brother fished a tourney Friday night, I have about the same thing to report. We did manage to catch 8 with one keeper, All but 1 of those fish came before it got dark. We got them all on 7 or 10 inch worms on the steep side of mainlake chunk rock points. Fished isolated timber on a huge flat also before dark, where I had some decent ones the week before, NADA not a bite. My friend also fished the tourney using worms through brushpiles, didn't have one bite all night. There were 2 sacks of 22+ lbs weighed in, with everyone dropping WAY off after that. Heard talk that the big ones were coming off Deep Humps. I guess I need a better graph...

Set the hook first, ask questions later...

Wow guys does not sound like they are biting. I am going Thursday night and try my luck. I guess I will study my map and try some deep water humps.

Went to the Rock on Tuesday night out of 13 caught one keeper before dark, my only bite. After dark tried everything, mostly bluffs and channel swings with 12" back worms, jigs, salt craws no bites.

Changed to the blade and fished chunk rock banks near the channel with wind and struggled to catch 4 more 3 smallies one was a keeper and one short spot. It was tuff, stayed on the water till 4am.

Walcrabas, sorry to hear about your boat problems, I hope they are finally worked out.

I'll post a report Friday. Tight lines and good luck to everyone.

We went out last Saturday as well. Got on the water about 7:00 pm. Fished a main lake point with an offshore ledge and brushpiles caught several working jigs over the ledge. Once it got dark we couldn't buy a bite. Went back to the first point and nothing, then fished a bluff bank nothing. Finally at about midnight we went to a deep main lake point. Had the boat sitting in about 50 feet of water casting to the bank. Caught three in 15 minutes on texas rigged creature bait and worm. That was it, slow night, but we still did better than the weekend before (camped and launched out of Cedar Ridge - two in two days, ugh)
