Micheal Kyle Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 I will have to say that someone up in the dam must know when I'm going to be down because they ran the water untill 1am. Everynight that I have not been down there they have shut the water off at 11. I think I will change my scheldule for next week. The Fishing started out slow but picked up as the night went on we Started fishing between outlet 1 and 2 and picked a few fish up on blood red. My buddy that was down there had a real nice brown that would measure right at 19" then he would have one more brown latter that night that would be just a little shorter. We made our way up to the cable and fished untill 4am and It bacame the worst thing possible catch a fish change a fly catch a fish change a fly. I will have to say that we caught fish on every color of mohair leech that I sell here in my shop. This time of year I will have that happen more than I want it to. But I will have to say I caught fish on some wierd color combos that one would never think would work. I will say this, think about the traditional Salmon flies for Alsaka they worked last night on Taney. These are the flies that we used last night Bunny Leech, Mohair Leech, Muddler Minnow, and a Sculpin. And like I said the color did not matter except for the fact that you would catch a fish and you would have to change flies. We were fishing all flies down stream no swing and stripping them very slow. There were several times that the line would just seem a little tight on the retrive you better set the hook. Then there were a few few fish that would just grab the fly so hard that it would jerk the rod almost out of your hands. I hope that everyone that goes down tonight will have fun and catch a big fish. I will not be down at all this weekend, I must fullfill my wifes every dream by completing her honey do list this weekend. She will not belive it. Michael To Know People Is To Know Thier Ways!
Kicknbass Posted August 20, 2006 Posted August 20, 2006 Michael, It sounds like a lot of things were working for you last night, but you never mentioned size. What size baits were you fishing. Thanks. " Too many hobbies to work" - "Must work to eat and play"
