Dorber Fly Rods

Has anyone fished this rod? I am looking for a great nymphing and dry fly rod.

If you are looking for a great nymph and dry rod all rapped up in one it might be more trouble than one thinks. Some of the great nymph rods are 10-11 feet in length and some of the great dry fly rods are short as in the 8-8.5 feet in length. To answer your question no I have not ever fished one.(Dorber Fly rods) If I were going to find an all around rod I would take a look at the Winston BIIX in 5-6 wt, Or I would look at Sage SLT 5-6wt. Sage has just came out with there new rod the Z-AXIS I have had the chance to cast and fish with the 5wt and I liked it a lot it does carry a heavy new price $650.00. I hope that this might help you. One rod you might consider would be a Scott A2 10' 6 wt that would be great nymph rod I have one and love it. Then for the dry fly rod. You could go with the Winston Vapor in 3 or a 4 wt the total for the two rods would be less than one of the other rods as in the BIIx and the Z-AXIS. Just food for thought.

You know how I feel about them. There is no better long rod around for the price, castability, cosmetics, performance, customer service, they wrap their own blanks in the factory right there in Flippin, Ark, so USA made entirely, and just nice guys....I think they are A-1. Just my very humble opinion...

Just a note to inform some that I was able to try two of the dorbeR rods out. The Ultra Weave 9ft 5wt and the 9ft 4wt DReach. The Ultra Weave was a slow rod, not to my liking. I can not, for the life of me, cast a slow rod. It would serve those that can, very well. The DReach, which is a fast rod, was more to my liking. If you have a chance to cast either one of these, I would highly recommend it. Or as far as that goes, any of their rods. You will not be disappointed. The DReach is on its way to a new home.
