Dylan Cluver Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Brother and I got down there at about eleven thirty, having instant success with black hibernators. Second cast hooked up had a nice bow on. Caught a nice rainbow later but when i got him in i could see my fly was not in his mouth, it was actually a foot and a half away, after examining someone had been using a two fly system with scuds, caught the fish and had the line broke off, the fish taking the two flies. my fly just so happen to get stuck on the loose fly. I guess it was a win, win. All dark colors (PMS and Hibernators) worked well except for dark brown and no light colors yielded fish, the only color we didn't try was red. We were catching fish in quick water, they were generating two units. Also a lot of fish holding close to the bank. The nicest fish we caught were 18 inch bows, which were a couple of chunks! No one gripes about obese fish.
Leonard Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 sounds like your getting into it really nicely... Keep on going and keep posting reports. I'll have to get down there with you again.. when my back gets better. http://www.taneycomonights.com
Aeronikl Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 My friend and I went down earlier to try and repeat the success we had previous days fishing just after dusk when they are generating. Not as much luck Friday night - just a few bows, but Dick caught a 4# walleye. Dark colors - black, black and red or purple caught fish.
