Put in at Mutton 7pm water temp 77.8. Headed up mile long bridge area and caught two shorts on red worm on points 15ft deep. Went to the flats by point 5 to see if any whites were busting but too much wind didn't see any action.

They must have been lately tons of boats waiting and trolling.

Started night fishing with single spin caught 3 shorts and one drum on wind blown cuts on channel banks, wind was out of NW. Fished deep chanel banks not much luck. Changed to shallow chunk rock points ang game on. Fish were on the bank and biting. Caught 17 blacks 6 keepers 2 short smallies. Went to Greaser area and hit some channel swings and caught 9 on blade and 7 on 12" black neon worm 5 keepers on worm, even had one short spot hit the big worm.

Had a great time, first trip since 7-28. Water temp was 73.2 at 2:30 when I left. Hope this helps you night fishing guys

It won't be long and the big ones will be shallow and in numbers, can't wait!

Tight lines guys.

Hammertime,

Glad to see you back on the site. We went Friday night too but the opposite direction. Caught several but the bite was really light early on. Things picked up about dark and got better after dark. Only caught 2 that were a little over 15" and one that was 22". Tried the Blade and the Crankbait but caught none. Found the fish shallow just like you only we caught some on gravel if there was brush down there. Dirty Pumpkin Stand Up Jigs before dark and Black Neon after dark. Both utilized matching trailers and Crawdad Oil. You are definitely right about the fishing getting better. In around two weeks we will see a lot of fish move up shallow.....and some big ones too. Glad to hear you caught some on the big worm. That tells me that their appetites are improving. We left about 10:30 P.M. as I had a Football game to attend the next evening. Wish I could have fished all night as things were certainly getting better and better. That is my 2 cents worth guys.

See Ya

Hammer is back! Thanks for the report. I went Saturday night, but we were delayed in getting there due to the storms that were rolling through. Started fishing around 7:40 in the back of a creek arm. Caught 10 in the shallow water back there on a craw. Went back out to the main lake after dark and caught some more on a big worm and finess jig with craw trailer. Caught a bunch, but only 5 keepers. Bite was much slower after 11 PM.

I agree with you and Walcrabass, the bite is good, and it is just going to get better as the lake cools.
