Smallies At Night?

Has anyone ever fly fished for smallmouth at night on the Spring River? I'm going to camp this weekend for a couple of days right on the river and thought I may sling a few flies at night for the heck of it.

Has anyone ever fly fished for smallmouth at night on the Spring River? I'm going to camp this weekend for a couple of days right on the river and thought I may sling a few flies at night for the heck of it.

I don't know about the Spring River, but I've had very good success for smallies at night, mostly fishing topwater. I'd say it might be a little late in the year for night fishing though, with temps dropping down into the mid 40s. It seems to be better mid-summer.

It's worth a few casts though. You can't know for sure until you've given it a shot.
