superfly Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 I took an ovvernight trip Sat./Sun. Greer to Truner. The fishing was great. Golden stoneflies, prince nymphs, and yellow and black bitch creeks produced the fish. A 16' rainbow was my big fish, about a dozen to hand. I just spent around 3hrs fishing. More of a camping trip with my wife. Saturday night was exciting, wet and wild with the all night thunder storms. The tent held up fine. Just a wet sunday morning. We met a guy named Tom and his buddy from Colorado at Greer puttiing in. Nice guys. Tom, I remember where we have met. You helped me out with a shuttle from Blair brigde to Kelly shoal on the NFoW about 7yrs ago. It was nice to see you out on the water. I hope you guys hooked the big one. MATT

MATT Sounds like a good trip. I don't get on the 11 Pt. as much as I want, but it seldom disappoints, does it?

Members Betty and Patrick Posted October 5, 2011 Members Posted October 5, 2011 Nothing like weathering an overnight storm on the river. Betty and I have weathered several thunder storms on the river. Back in July I was in the river at Turner when a storm blew up with all kinds of lightning. Very disconcerting. We had just bought a new coleman tent and the rain fly got quite a work out. When camping at Turner at the big camp site make sure you check to see where the water runs or you will have a river under your tent. Hope to go back in November. I'll try to get girly to post some of great pictures we taken on the river.
