dave potts Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 I'm planning a short overnight stay at RR next week on the way to my son's place in NW Arkansas. Was wondering what flies would be best to bring or buy there. Also could use some advice on a place to stay overnight. My wife will be with me. Haven't been to RR to fish for several years. Tim, is your shop the one just outside the park? Thanks, Dave
timsfly Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 I fished after I closed this after noon caught 20 or so on small eggs(glo-balls), crackle backs, parachute Adams, and a few on a brassie. Roaring River Resort is just south of my shop, nice people run it, haven't heard anything bad about the place, usually if its nasty I hear about that 417-847-3235 my shop is just a mile outside the north entrance. Jack Jones Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 I'll vouch for Tim's. Bought a nice fly rig there earlier this year and no pressure at all. He's got the info on the flies to use, and the gear to use. You may be tempted to go with the concessionaire, and I'll confess, they are good for some things, but support your local fly shop. Stop into Tim's and you'll be happy with the knowledge and selection. "Thanks to Mother Mercy, Thanks to Brother Wine, Another night is over and we're walking down the line" - David Mallett
