Started at Barclay first light, was wading. misjudged my depth and one bad step later filled my waders before my first cast. Fast forward 45 minutes after a change of clothes and a good shiver in the minivan. Only managed a couple of bites on an beadhead olive bugger, switched to a crackleback, did a little better but no fish to hand. Switched to the Bennett access, 5 fish in 20 minutes, on a smaller olive bugger. Then I had to go. I wish I didn't have only 6 hours to fish on my day off but the final score was Trout - 3, Burninworm - 5 that's all that counts. Bennett access gets the save. All trout released immediately unharmed, biggest fish around 15". Picked up some trash, but all in all I've seen the river in a lot worse shape. I wish we would get some rain. Anyone know how much came down near Bennett this afternoon? We need a soaking if only to improve the odds a little.
