Skeeter ZX190 Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 Started fishing around 2:30 p.m. There was cloud cover and a slight wind when I started. Later the clouds broke up a little bit and by the time I got off the water at sunset, it had cleared off. Caught 25 fish with 5 being white bass, and everything else either largemouth or smallmouth. Caught a 4 lb. black and 2 others that went 15 inches. Caught everything on a Zell Pop. Water temp was 71 degrees. Fished from the dam to the two isalnds where the Big Sac and Little Sac part. Got most of my bites on big chunk rock and boulders. If there was some brush around or a stump, it made it all the better. The shad were on the surface all over the lake. Saw the white bass working them over on several ocassions. Saw my first bald eagle of the fall. Also saw a flock of snow geese migrating south. As high as they were, they probably needed oxygen masks. Seeing them headed south makes me wonder if cold weather is going to be here very soon. Hope not.
