With our schedule not being conducive to going to summertime ball games, I had promised the family a game if we made the playoffs. Bought tickets to game 3 and loaded up the Subaru for the trip to St. Louis. Taking these hillbilly kids to the city is kind of like watching Crocodile Dundee II, everything is a new experience. It was my first time to the new stadium and it is so much better than the old one. We lucked out and had tickets up high under the roof which kept us dry during the rainy/misty game 3. I'm afraid the kids are spoiled after a sellout nailbiter that ended in a Cards win. Eli absolutely loved it, and Molly enjoyed the fireworks at the end and thought it was too loud most of the game, but ate plenty of cotton candy, pretzels and hotdogs.

That is something they won't soon forget. I remember my first game vividly.

I was there for the not so good outcome of the first Series games at home in '04. Absolutely electric. I can't imagine what that place was like when Motte got those punch outs to end the game.

I have spent most of my money on fly fishing and beer. The rest I just wasted.

Very cool I bet the kids loved it. The only thing I don't like about the new stadium is that you can pratically touch it while driving on hwy 40....looks a bit odd...but you can't really move the hwy.

I think tonight is a must win game!

It was awesome. Eli took his Flip so I turned it on for the final out, I tried to attach the video but think I need to put on youtube and link it.

My first game was at old Busch Stadium (even though we were only an hour from KC). My dad was a big Cards fan. I still to this day have to run and see the field as soon as I go through the gate. Something about looking at that grass that I love.

Part of the charm of the stadium to me is how it is kind of shoved in the middle of everything. I grew up going to Royals and Chiefs games, and they still have 2 of the greatest stadiums in their sports, but they are out in the middle of nowhere with nothing to do around them. Makes for some great tailgaiting, but it's nice to just walk to a bar, or your hotel after the game is done!

I will say if the Cards don't resign Pujols that may be my last time to a game on that side of the state, C'mon man!
