Gatorjet Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 I picked up another barrel and scope for my 'Tender. I got a pretty good deal on a used 14" 223 Remington Barrel, and also won the ebay bid on a T/C 2.5-7 scope to put on it. I hope to get some range time in next week, and have high hopes for this setup. I'm thinking just the thing to knock off a few buck toothed, furry critters next spring. Maybe ring some gongs, and pulverize some clay birds at the range. I knew when I got that great deal on a Contender it would only start another addiction!!! Real men go propless!
Gatorjet Posted November 10, 2011 Author Posted November 10, 2011 While doing a little last minute tweaking on my shootin' irons for deer season I had a chance to run a few rounds through the new barrel. Simple bore sighting @ 25 yds, and I had it hitting pretty good. At 100 I only had to make a few adjustments to get it dialed in. I really couldn't tell how good of a tack driver it's gonna be today. Steady winds of 15-25 mph with gusts of 30, so I wasn't too upset to be getting only 1 1/2 groups at 100 yards. Can't wait for some calm weather to really give it a try. BTW, the 35 Remington barrel is dead on @100 yds with Hornady Leverevolution 200 gr. factory loads. Look out Bambi!!! Real men go propless!
