Members tritonwildcat Posted November 21, 2011 Members Posted November 21, 2011 Fished LOZ today (Sunday - 11/20), very tough weather conditions - air temps at 36-38* with 15 mph winds. Two Sundays ago, I did very well in Indian Creek Cove from the mid point to the back on the Northern bank - primary lures were a 7/16 oz Omega Jig in Missouri Craw with a Pumpkin Berkley Chigger Craw trailer and a Crawfish Wiggle Wart, the fish were very tight against the bank. The fish were not there this morning, after two hours I moved toward the dam and fished from 9am - 1 pm, targeting main lake points with chunk rock on the North side. Between the 2MM and 4MM, fishing up to the points at Dry Branch Cove. Managed 16 total - seven keepers with the top five weighing in around 17#s. Had a nice 5#, 4# and 2 over 3#. All came on the Omega Jig in Missouri craw, with the Pumpkin Berkley Chigger Craw trailer, fishing very slow in 8-10 feet of water. Shallower produced no fish. Some, including the 5# came off docks. Despite the rain, cool air and wind - overall a nice day.
DChance Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 thanks, I will be heading up there later this week and plan to fish somewher around there. Haven't been to the lake for a couple weeks so I was needing a good report. thanks for the detailed outing.
Guest Buck Creek Mike Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Sounds like a good day. I was crappie fishing on Saturday and cought the hell out of 10-11" fish. Must have had 60 keepers.(obviously I didn't keep 60 fish though) They were almost all on docks way back in there. Used shad colored jigs.
MOsmallies Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Thanks for the report! I'll definitely have my jig tied on this week when I'm down there for Thanksgiving.
Members Zach Beach Posted November 21, 2011 Members Posted November 21, 2011 I fished for a little bit on Saturday and Sunday for Crappie and caught a bunch of them. They were mostly in about 4 feet of water. I only fished for about 2 hours each day and caught about 20 to 25 each day. I was throwing a black and chartreuse curly tail on a 1/16th oz. jig. They all came around docks with brush.
