Thought I would post this in this section as well as Crane. Lots of good historical fisheries reports. I believe I made all the documents public for your viewing pleasure:

MDC Fisheries Reports, Stocking Records, Reproduction Studies, Robert Behnke

Contains much information on wild trout in Missouri.

good info, best thread title ever tho

Fish always lose by being "got in and dressed." It is best to weigh them while they are in the water. The only really large one I ever caught got away with my leader when I first struck him. He weighed ten pounds.

Yes I thought that myself. Wish I could leak fishy information more often, but graduate school and the outdoor rec program here at MSU keep me rather busy, but in my spare time I chase wild bows in small creeks in Southwest Missouri. Two other tools I use to zero in on areas are:

Google Maps - I use it to pinpoint and create my own maps, so that they can be viewed on:

Google Earth - the function on Earth where you can view multiple years of aerial photos helps (especially the ones where the photos were taken when there were no leaves on the trees). Which all in turn can be viewed on my Iphone (which I carry fishing).

And the USGS Map Locator/Store - I download quadrangles from here to pinpoint areas of troutness indicated by the Spencer studies.

Hope this helps any other wild trout fans! :)

That sounds great.... I understand none of those fancy google earth machinations but the trout hunting is enviable. God Bless, happy hunting.

"Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee. They went forth, and entered into a ship immediately; and that night they caught nothing." John 21:3 KJV

If you don't catch 'em at night, try again in the morning.

I see your interests include geocaching - that's pretty much all that the Google software does. I believe you can drop pinpoints by latitude & longitude. The Google earth program (free for download, not the Earth feature on google maps) just contains all the years of past aerial photos, and a lot of other cool stuff (weather, the moon, mars, etc). Check it out! :)
