MSUFisherBear Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 Took the trip to Springfield today. All the recent rain has really muddied up the lake. Didn't catch a thing, but only stayed out for about 2 hours. The water was so murky that even with chartruse baits, the ability to see the lure was limited to just a foot or so. I sure wish the lake wouldn't have been quite so high, but we sure do need the rain, especially for McDaniels and Fellows. I hope all is well and everyone is enjoying the first day of winter! emjay Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 Caught this fellow yesterday. They shut the outlet off but it was too nice not to fish. They didn't want the pause, just quick jerks.

I haven't been down now since the 21st but this sure makes me want to get back out! There is certainly something in angling that tends to produce a serenity of the mind. ~Washington Irving
emjay Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 If you have trouble catch them, just downsize your lure and I'm talking crappie jig size lures. If that doesnt work, just throw a senko into some pockets. Works everytime.
