dennis boatman Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 I am thinking of trying the park for some C & R. All I need is a current fishing license and trout stamp? And is fishing permitted all the way from the spring to the Niangua River? A strike indicator is just a bobber...
FishinCricket Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 Yes, there's particular hours and the zones sorta change, though.. Everything is zone 1 regulations, so your flies should be fine in any area... Hours are 8-4 on Friday, Saturday, Sunday (maybe Monday too, can never remember).. The horn sounds, like usual.. Good luck, sausage-head!! cricket.c21.com
Wayne SW/MO Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 I believe Monday is included. The park is pretty enjoyable during the winter fishing. No crowds or undesirables as a rule. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

Wayne SW/MO Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 Except when I'm there! I thought about pointing that out, but I didn't want destroy the parks reputation in case you weren't there. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
rcguy Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 It's nice! You can even fish zone 3 with flys...pretty cool

You are correct - Monday's are open for C&R. Hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. * ´¯`•.¸¸.•´¯`•.¸ ><((((((º> `•.¸¸.•´¯`•.¸¸.•´¯`•.¸ ><((((º> .¸¸.•´¯`•.¸ ><((((((º> I look in my fly box and think about what should guide my choice of the best fly: the amount/angle of sun on the water, the water temp & clarity, what bugs are hatching, what the fish might be eating, and what worked last time. Then I remember what an old man told me... " Ninety percent of what a trout eats is brown, fuzzy, about 1/2 inch long and underwater."
