Well, it's nice to see that there are fish in that pond. I fished it several years ago and caught nothing. Thanks for the post and welcome to the board.

Great place to cast as it is wide open. If you enjoy drys/poppers I couldn't keep the bluegill off of em. There are several decent size bass in there as well. I did see a guy with a bait caster throwing a 14" worm one day and when I quizzed him he told me he caught a nine pound bass out of there a couple years ago!?!? I never saw anything near that size but quite a few one to two pounders.

My office is just down the road from that Pond. This will give me someplace to spend my lunch hours in the spring. Thanks for the post.

Those are some good looking fish. My brother used to have a 3 ac pond on his place and it was loaded with 12 and 13 inch gills. Absolute blast on a fly rod or ultra light. Did those gills get a swim in some hot grease?

No hot grease bath for those guys. They were put back after a quick snapshot.

I do have many fond memories of eating bluegill fillets breaded with crushed saltines at grandmas lake house in Minnesota though...

I work just around the corner from there and fish it quite regularly. (Twice this week) It's a nice way to spend a lunch hour.

The big bass are on their beds and really hard to catch right now but the sun fish are active. I've seen several really nice bass jumping out of the water after the paired up red damsel flies this week.

Sometimes later in the summer the moss gets so bad if I don't hook them along the edge they get down in the moss and I loose them on the really light gear I use.
